This is the worst album title ever

The 1975′s new album title will make you shudder.

REMEMBER THE 1975?

The British band hit it big in 2013 with their self-titled debut album reached number one on the UK Albums Chart. (It reached number 4 in Ireland.)

At the very least, you definitely know their song Chocolate.

Well, they’re back with their second album and it’s already causing a stir on account of its frankly horrifying title.

Are you ready?

I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It

Yes, in just sixteen words, The 1975 have managed to make every woman on the face of the planet shudder.

In fact, they might as well have just called the album Moist.

Be honest: if a lad said this to you, it would set off alarm bells.

Or at least prompt you to send an “Eh, this lad is very intense” message to your Whatsapp group.

Seriously, though.

Nobody’s on board with it.

So, what’s the deal with the title? The band’s singer Matt Healy told Rolling Stone that it was inspired by a remark he said to a former girlfriend.

It was something I said to a girlfriend of mine at the time. Like all situations, I’m sure it wasn’t quite as poetic as it sounds.
We had gone from an unknown band to known about so we were being objectified and known about. We were kind of fearful of certain things, and we made the deicison that the only thing that was going to remedy that was to make a record that was just about the truth and not about what we thought we should be saying. Because of that, I just decided early on that was the name of the album for no other reason besides that I really liked it.

Fair enough, but that hasn’t stopped publications like Gigwise and The Independent describing it as “mildly ridiculous” and “hideous”.

Pro-tip: don’t quote this album title to your significant other unless you want to send them running for the hills.
